The group's stay in Truckee is a welcome respite, offering free beers and a chance to resupply. Bear Bait's new pair of MTN Racers, in a fitting black and pink colorway, symbolizes a fresh start and a much-needed upgrade. Day 79 presents a struggle to leave the comforts of Mountain Goat's hospitality, especially with the offer of another night and hot tub access. Before leaving, Bear Bait enjoys a musical interlude, playing guitar at the Peter Grubb Hut, a unique stone structure along the trail.

On Day 80, the group sets a big goal: reaching Sierra City before the general store closes. Along the way, they encounter trail magic, including a lunchtime BBQ and wine tasting.
